This blog post is a personal business tip. Taking time out from business can seem counterproductive however after working non stop for the last 4/5 years, I’ve decided to take a different approach for 2019.
We all get into a routine or bubble of we must keep doing what we do. Whilst this is particularly true for my own business, being a one-man band can be tricky at times. However, having a bit of time out doesn’t have to stop your business, if you plan it correctly.
The benefits I found of having a bit of time out is:
- Clearer mind for planning personal and business goals by stepping back and evaluating things
- Time to relax and enjoy life
- Eager to get back to business, so an increase of motivation and appreciation of what you do
How do I take time out?
Be it a day walking, landscape photography, exploring agricultural shows, a mini holiday break in North Wales or some tractor driving on the farm. It doesn’t have to be a whole day, it can be as little as a few hours.
Planning is the key. Always plan your schedule so you can have an hour or two to do what you want, or a whole day or weekend every now and then.
